Event Centres help centralise and promote experiences that are accessible to people with a range of ages, access needs and interests. Events can be listed in private groups (e.g. for a membership-based gym) or made public (e.g. for a recreation centre or food truck collective). Listings can also be filtered by accessibility requirement, location and date.

New Zealand is full of amazing groups that host interesting and inclusive events. We want to ensure that Kiwis with a range of access needs, ages and interests can find and participate in these events easily. We do this by helping you remove the guesswork around your experiences. These could be social activities that are accessible to people who use wheelchairs or who experience blindness, or sporting events that welcome visitors with service animals. Check out some of the ways in which we work.

Working with you

We partner with Councils, CCOs and community groups that offer activities and events in your area. These can range from art therapy and dance classes to facility-based day care.

Each activity organiser uses Skillet to promote events to their local community, identifying their accessibility standards, cost of admission and the maximum number of people who'll be attending.

To save you effort, you can draft an event once and set it to recur on a daily, weekly or fortnightly basis – up to six months in advance.

Provide a great experience for guests and staff by ensuring that access needs and support details are sent to event organisers, when booked.
